Net force

The overall force acting on an object after all forces have been combined.

Newton

defined as the force required to accelerate a mass of one kilogram by one meter per second squared. Mathematically, it can be expressed as 1 kg·m/s². It's like a cosmic equation that quantifies the push or pull on an object, allowing us to measure the strength of forces in the universe!

Newton's First Law

An object remains at rest or moves with constant velocity unless acted upon by a net external force.

Newton's Second Law

The net force on an object equals its mass multiplied by its acceleration ( $F = ma$ ).

Newton's Third Law

For every action force, there is an equal and opposite reaction force.

Non-contact force

A force that acts without physical contact between objects.

Normal

A direction that is perpendicular to a surface

Normal force

The support force exerted by a surface, acting perpendicular to it.
