In this course, students investigate the tools astronomers use to observe the universe, including telescopes, spectroscopy, and the electromagnetic spectrum. They explore the life cycles of stars, nuclear fusion, stellar remnants, galaxies, cosmology, and the expanding universe. Students also examine orbital motion, gravitational interactions, exoplanets, black holes, and the latest discoveries shaping modern astronomy. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on applying fundamental physics principles to astronomical phenomena while developing an appreciation for the scale, beauty, and complexity of the universe.
