Systems of Equations builds on students' understanding of linear equations and algebraic manipulation by introducing techniques for solving multiple equations simultaneously. Students begin by exploring what a system of equations represents and how solutions correspond to the intersection of graphs. They then develop fluency with graphical, substitution, and elimination methods before tackling more complex systems involving three variables. Throughout the course, students apply systems of equations to authentic situations involving finance, science, geometry, and everyday problem solving. Emphasis is placed on selecting efficient solution methods, interpreting results in context, and communicating mathematical reasoning clearly. By the end of the course, students will confidently solve and model real-world problems using systems of equations and be well prepared for advanced studies in functions, linear algebra, and mathematical modelling.
