Electromagnetic induction is one of the most important discoveries in physics, making modern electricity generation, power transmission, electric motors, and countless electronic technologies possible. In this course, students investigate how changing magnetic fields produce electric currents and how this principle underpins many of the devices used in everyday life. Beginning with the fundamental concepts of magnetic flux, Faraday's Law, and Lenz's Law, students develop an understanding of induced EMF and current before exploring inductance, energy storage, alternating current systems, and practical applications. Throughout the course, learners strengthen their problem-solving skills while connecting theoretical physics to real-world engineering and emerging technologies.
This course is organized into five main units:
- Fundamentals of Electromagnetic Induction
- Induced EMF and Current
- Inductance and Energy Storage
- Electromagnetic Induction in Alternating Current Systems
- Applications of Electromagnetic Induction
By the end of this course, students will understand how electromagnetic induction forms the foundation of electrical power generation, transformers, wireless technologies, and many modern engineering systems.
